LEARN TO DIVE

Why Learn to Dive?

So what's all the fuss about? Why should YOU learn to SCUBA dive and why do people get so fanatical about it?!!

The feeling of breathing air underwater is not one that is easy to describe in words, but it is one that you will never forget! SCUBA diving allows you to become a part of the underwater environment, much more than just a spectator. As you learn how to master your buoyancy you will feel increasingly more at ease and awed by the natural spectacles that only SCUBA diving can give you access to. A SCUBA license is your ticket to travel the world, meet lots of like-minded people and have loads of fun!

Being a diver is much more than going diving; it is a great platform to get involved in any number of activities from photography to teaching to marine conservation. What's more, having a SCUBA qualification will instantly give you a head start in life, especially when combined with other qualifications such as First Aid which go hand-in-hand with diving.

PADI or SDI?
PADI

PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors)
There is no doubt about it, PADI is the most recognised SCUBA training organisation in the world. This means that no matter where you choose to dive in the world, your PADI certification card will be recognised and accepted. As a qualified Open Water Diver you have the freedom to dive with a buddy independent of a professional. Over 55% of divers are PADI certified and the path to obtaining further qualifications beyond Open Water is relatively simple. PADI offer a very wide range of speciality courses as well as leadership and technical courses.

SDI
SDI (SCUBA Diving International)
The SDI system of SCUBA training offers a no-nonsense approach with an emphasis on practical diving skills. SDI requires all divers to be trained using modern dive computers from the outset and is the only organisation to do so. SDI qualifications are recognised around the world and once you are qualified as an Open Water diver, the path is open to specialise into technical diving with their sister company TDI. You can also climb up the ladder to take on a leadership or instructor role as well as gaining specific skills that you choose.
